This is the new harvester at work in one of the many pumpkin fields. Its design, utilising multiple conveyors, allows the pumpkins to be thoroughly washed before they leave the field. The pumpkins are loaded at the front and pass under the driver's cab, as shown here. |
| On the right is the washer on the back of the harvester. The pumpkins are washed from all angles, making sure that they are clean by the time they are put into crates. |

 |
After crates have been filled, they are removed and loaded onto a trailer. They are then transported to the storage facility. |
| This is the inside of the temperature controlled facility. The pumpkins are stored in here at 25°C to help them to ripen. This feature of David Bowman's facilities is unique in the UK. |

 |
The pumpkins are clearly visible immediately prior to harvesting, as the plants around them die down to allow ripening. |
| The fens are an ideal place to grow pumpkins, due to the fertile silty soil. The area is predominantly agricultural, with large open fields. |
